Supreme Court and Women’s Sports

Written by Liberty McArtor June 18 - 2026

It’s June, and that means the U.S. Supreme Court is handing down decisions this month. Some could have important implications for women, girls, and their right to fair play in sports.

Consider

Two cases dealing with women’s sports are before the Supreme Court this term. One is out of Idaho, where the state passed a law prohibiting biological males from playing in girls’ sports. The state was sued over the common-sense law by those who claim it discriminates against “transgender girls”—or boys with gender dysphoria.

Another case comes from West Virginia, where a male student athlete is suing to be able to participate in girls’ high school cross country. The Court is expected to hand down an opinion that will address both cases, and has not yet done so at the time of this writing.

A recent event highlights the stakes at hand. In Washington last winter, teen wrestler Kallie Keeler unknowingly wrestled a biological male, who pinned her down and sexually assaulted her during her match. Alliance Defending Freedom is now representing Kallie. Protecting the right of women and girls to female-only sports and spaces is a human rights issue, a women’s rights issue, and a child safety issue. We should pray that the Supreme Court affirms these truths clearly, leaving no room for doubt.

Pray

Please pray the following prayer along with me:

Dear God,

Thank you for America’s Constitutional system, which protects our right to petition the government for a redress of grievances, including at the Supreme Court.

Give those in authority, including the nine justices who sit on the bench of the Supreme Court, clarity of judgment and the courage to uphold truth.

Protect women and girls who are fighting for their right to safety and female-only spaces, and encourage those who are embroiled in this battle culturally and legally.

Give Christians boldness to declare the truth and goodness of Your created order.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.

Act

Thank you for praying today. Prayer is the most powerful thing we can do in any situation. To continue making a difference through your actions, consider these steps:

Gen Z Spirituality

We’ve been hearing a lot about young adults and whether there are rumblings of a revival. Recently I talked with researcher Dr. George Barna about the true state of Gen Z spirituality.
