Through his friendship with Joe Bayly, who followed Dr. Robinson as General Director of CMS, Hal then transitioned from the work at First Baptist Church to a full-time ministry with CMS. He first served as a regional director for TX, OK, KS, and NE, then as national staff director. He completed his tenure at CMS (now CMDA) by serving for 7 years as the General Director. He is a Lifetime Member of CMDA.
In 1993 God led them to leave CMDA to become pastor at Dallas Bible Church when he served as senior pastor for 21+ years.
Completing that ministry in 2015, Hal launched Finishing Well Ministries (FWM). FWM is a preaching, teaching, discipling ministry to seniors in churches and senior living facilities primarily in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. FWM is a 501c3 approved organization, an ECFA member, and operates under the authority of an excellent board.

Hal and his wife, Vicki, have been married for 43 years. They have 3 grown children (Jennifer, Bethany, and Jonathan) and 6 grandchildren. Hal has served as a pastor for all their years together in three different Dallas-based ministries.
