Since January of 1993, Dean Sikes has been on the road, ministering words of hope in high schools, Teen Challenge Centers and prisons across America and in nations of the world. He’s spoken at over 4,200 events, sharing his YOU MATTER message with millions of teenagers. Dean also hosts YOU MATTER Television, a national television broadcast, which reaches millions of people on social media.  Dean has written 33 books for teens and their families. Together with his wife, Lori, the Sikes family makes their home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dean will discuss his latest book Hope 365: A Daily Devotional for Teens which is due out September 1, 2026. It’s a year-long guide designed to help adolescents build confidence in their identity and recognize their divine purpose.

Born in upstate New York, he spent most of his childhood growing up in Bryan, Ohio. He bought his first guitar at 13 with money he earned mowing lawns, teaching himself to play through music books and by ear. By 14, he had started his first band, continuing to perform throughout his college years. At 20, he became a Christian—a decision that would shape the course of his life and career.He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology before enrolling in a two-year Bible program at Christian Training Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was out of that ministry that Petra was born.The band released its first album in 1974 and began touring nationally—slowly at first. In those early years, they faced significant resistance from within the church, enduring criticism and skepticism. Over time, however, they built a strong following among young Christians.Decades later, he remains grateful to still be touring the world, sharing a message of hope in Jesus Christ.

John Schlitt is one of the most recognizable voices in Christian rock. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he has earned multiple GRAMMY and Dove Awards, toured internationally, and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame as the lead singer of Petra, one of the most successful Christian rock bands in history.Before joining Petra in 1986, Schlitt fronted the legendary rock band Head East, whose hit “Never Been Any Reason” remains a classic rock staple. Following a personal struggle with addiction and a life-changing encounter with God, he returned to music with a renewed purpose, helping lead Petra through one of the most successful eras in the band's history.Today, Schlitt continues to record and perform around the world as a solo artist and with Petra. Parker obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in both Real Estate and Marketing from Baylor University in 1993. He has been a real estate asset manager for over 30 years and is currently owner of Jill Parker Real Estate (residential brokerage) and Reallegiance Real Estate (commercial development). A Christian since elementary school, Parker has always had a passion for encouraging Christians to build their faith and sharing the love of Christ and Gospel with others. Parker currently sits on the board of several Christian ministries including Probe Ministries, Ask Nova, and now Worship In Motion & Day 4 Astronomy. He is a former member of the Texas Astronomical Society and has been an amateur astronomer for over 20 years. Parker and Jill, his wife of over 18 years, are decades long members of Prestonwood Baptist Church where Parker is a deacon and also director for Kerby Anderson’s Examine Sunday School Class for over 14 years. Parker’s interests include astronomy & telescopes, audio/video production, photography & astrophotography, drones, computers, gardening, event planning, and organizational leadership.
