Pounds said, "As a business executive, I know how to balance budgets, meet payroll, build effective teams, and work with the people across this district to get real results. I also know the effects of burdensome taxation and regulation and will work every day to fight the heavy hand of government.” At the age of 29, Bunni enrolled in an American government class at Dallas Baptist University. After three and a half years of night school she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and was immediately hired to serve as Congressman Jeb Hensarling’s campaign manager. In that capacity, she traveled the district for over eight years, building deep relationships with the people of Congressional District 5. Bunni and her best friend, Tim, have been married for 21 years and have two adult sons, Israel (married to Teodora) and Ben. After accepting Christ at the age of 13, Bunni has been active in Christian ministry by teaching the Bible, leading worship, and facilitating missions around the world, primarily focused in the former communist nation of Romania.
